"Sailing Home" watercolour painting

I made this one up as I went along.  Unfortunately I forgot to put in the reflections for the boat and house.  Oh well, never mind!  I'm trying to develop a rougher, more loose style.  Perhaps I should have put a boat on the foreground beach.

I'm still waiting for my Bob Ross starter kit to arrive so I'll have to plough on with watercolours until then.  I'm quite looking forward to trying oils.

I think you've made a good job of the imaginary landscape. I like the colours in the sky. I'm not sure that a boat in the foreground would be an improvement. You already have some nice textures there to give depth. Anything stronger would detract from the sailing boat.

It will be interesting to see how much looser and rougher you can get!

Thanks for the kind words Dana. I've just finished my first oil painting. I'll post on here shortly. You'll probably recognize the Bob Ross influence.

Thanks for the kind words Dave. Do you paint yourself?

Just started in Watercolors, I like your use of the Hake brush in most of your paintings and starting to work with them.
