I've used just the 3 colours again here - Raw Sienna, Ultramarine Blue and Burnt Umber in this watercolour. Painted from Ron Ranson's original, I love the way he simplifies everything and uses the fewest strokes possible.

Wonderful Painting Steven and thanks for bringing Ron Ranson to my attention. I hope my Hake brushes arrive today.
I think you'll enjoy his fast and loose style. If you can, try and get hold of some of his videos. I learnt more from watching videos than I did reading books. Have fun with your hakes. They'll seem awkward at first as they hold much more water than other brushes, but you'll get use to them with practise and they help create some wonderful effects.
