As much as I try to find local subjects to paint, I cannot escape my fascination with the Alaskan landscape. I saw a photo of Cooper Landing in Alaska and couldn't resist having a go at it. A fear of flying means it could be some time before I get to see these places first hand. On the plus side, the power of the internet allows us all a glimpse of just about anywhere, whether it be this world or beyond. This painting is for sale at http://www.stevencronin.com

I love the blue on the distant mountains. The blue shadows on the nearer slopes are well-observed too.
