Loch Lubnaig, Stirling 15" x 11" Watercolour Painting

Probably my favourite type of scene to paint - the view from the shores of a Scottish loch.  This watercolour is of Loch Lubnaig in Stirling.  The significant thing about this painting is that it is the first time I've ever fiddled with something and actually improved it!  As you gain experience it becomes easier to resist the temptation though it can still be a great tease.

The foreground rocks were done using my fingernail.  I used to scrape with a credit card but find a fingernail offers a much more subtle effect.  All painting sales are at http://www.StevenCronin.com

Loch Lubnaig is a favourite of mine Steven. I often drive past and feel the need to stop as the loch is always so still, and the reflections superb. This is a lovely painting ... don't fiddle anymore! :->

A lovely fresh looking watercolour Steven. I love the light in the sky too.

Thanks Ingrid. It certainly looks a lovely place. I'll try to resist the temptation to fiddle from now on!
